The Batteries of Capo Enfola

The pathway starts behind the "ex Tonnara" building. At the beginning, we go up along a ground way that rise up with his eight bend sweetly and gives us some evocative panoramic view of Viticcio gulf and the solid of Monte Capanne and west on the white beaches and shore to Portoferraio with his Medici Fortress.

Reaching the top of the road ( km 1,850 tm. 130) we goes through left in an eng but easy pathway surrounded by a fresh vegetation with Pinewood and the principal plants of the Mediterranean Vegetation.

Walking clockwise on the side of the battery of Cannon with their fortification from the last World War after about 500 meter turn left and begin to go down to steep and sometime slippery pathway till the tip of Enfola where in the spring months it's possible to admire one of the biggest colony of King Seagull in Elba.

Enfola Tip offer an evocative environment particularly at the sunset when the white granites rocks of the shore moulded by the sea action take anthropomorphosis forms thanks to the magic game of shadows and the pink colour of the sunset.

Going back to the steep pathway and once we are back on the main way we continue our clockwise round till we get to the white street to easily and back to the parking of "The Toner" ( km 4,7)


The Green coast

Route: Viticcio - Punta Penisola - Forno - Biodola - Porticciolo - La Guardiola - Procchio

We leave from the little square of Viticcio and where there way start from a little gate; in the first parts we find us in a flourishing high vegetables, made of strawberry tree Holm oak long a pathway, mostly flat close to the sea, after 750 meter ( 88 meter over the sea level) we find ourselves in a crossing of four ways we take the right one and the way is under a pine wood that lead us to the sea in the yellowish granites rocks of "punta penisola" (km 1,6).

Following the coast we reach Forno ( 20 meters over the sea level- km 2) a little village built behind a tiny granites beach, gong through Forno we reach Scaglieri and we go through the beach walking west over the colourful granites rocks that separated us from the white beach of Biodola ( 4,1 km on the sea level).

Leaving the beach, we enter in the avenue of Hotel Hermitage, reaching the Tennis court we turn left then right as soon as we get to a white street that rise, we continue to rise admiring the beautiful view of the Biodola Gulf then going left we enter a shadow way that bring us to the Porticciolo Beach, (5, 3 km) always shelter from every wind.

From here we go along until we get to "the Guardiola" (20 meter over the sea level- 7 km) old military emplacement and nowadays private house sited in the western part of Procchio Gulf, we continue along the Procchio beach till the town of Procchio.
